I. ACADEMICAL AND TECHNICAL STAFF OF DEPARTMENT

The Department of Geomatics Engineering was established in 1992. It has been providing education since 1994.  The department has faculty members who have experiences in application and overseas and the facilities provided from the major application projects. It has become one of the most advanced and dynamic department in our university as well as our country.

The department provides education and research with 13 instructors, 10 research assistants and 1 specialist. The academic staff is listed below

II. LABORATORIES

Surveying and Research Laboratories

There are optical-mechanical, electronic measurement instruments, satellite positioning system (GPS) hardware and software in the laboratory. They are used for the applications related with the Geomatics (Survey and Cadastre) Engineering education. They are also used for the research and application-oriented topographic, geodesic, mining and all kinds of engineering surveying.

Furthermore, softwares and hardwares are available for digital photogrammetry, terrestrial photogrametric rolove surveys, the production of medium and small-scale topographic maps using remote sensing images and the production of orthophoto maps.

The softwares and hardwares in the Research Laboratory are;

  • Digital Photogrammetric Workstations
  • Mirror stereoscops for the interpretation of the aerial photographs
  • Zeiss analytical compilation instrument
  • Wild A8 Analog compilation instrument
  • Digital cameras
  • Photogrammetry and remote sensing softwares for the applications
