Bölümümüz öğretim elemanlarından Arş. Gör. Dr. Nevin Betül Avşar, İzmir Katip Çelebi Üniversitesi Harita Mühendisliği Bölümüne Dr. Öğr. Üyesi olarak atanması nedeniyle Bölümümüzden ayrılacağından kendisine bir veda yemeği düzenlenmiştir. 25 Nisan 2023 tarihinde Akademi Kafede düzenlenen yemeğe Bölüm öğretim elemanları katılmış ve Rektör Yardımcımız Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu tarafından Bölümümüz adına bir saat hediye edilmiştir. Kendisini kutlar, yeni görevinde başarılar dileriz.

2001 yılında Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Harita Mühendisliği lisans, 2004 yılında aynı üniversitenin Matematik Bölümünden lisans, 2009 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Harita Mühendisliği Bölümünden yüksek lisans programlarından mezun olmuş; Bölümümüzde Prof. Dr. Şenol Hakan Kutoğlu ve prof. Dr. Shuanggen Jin danışmanlığında “Sea level changes in the Black Sea and its impacts on the coastal areas (Karadeniz'de deniz seviyesi değişimleri ve kıyı alanları üzerindeki etkileri)” başlıklı tezi ile 2019 yılında doktor unvanı almıştır.
